Frats are just a breeding ground for scum bags
In this case, Ivy League scum bags: Cornell University gang rape case. https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/cornell-sexual-assault-case-9.7360733
Agree, they are nothing but a training ground for assholes to abuse people who have no power.
Not as common here in Canada so I didn't experience the frat scene in my university days, but I've met several guys over the years who were in US frats. They were, without a doubt, the biggest assholes I've ever met in my life.
Pumped said: Dude, really? Blame the victim? Not a good take -- ever. Decent person would have escorted her back to her sorority or called for help if she was that inebriated as it's a danger all on its own. To say anyone else has any responsibility for what happened is just ... really, really, really fucking stupid. Click to expand... Exactly this. A decent human being who meets a girl in this vulnerable situation should have the good sense and morality to look out for her. Help her home or at least make sure she's safe. These frat boys didn't, and they are clearly anything but decent human beings. The frat system seems to breed this kind of self absorbed, testosterone fuelled jerk. It looks like they might finally face some consequences, and I hope their lives are miserable. I also hope Cornell gets all the shit that's coming to them too for trying to bury this and failing to look out their female students. And kudos to the student newspaper kids who kept at this and wouldn't let it go. There are some decent human beings at Cornell, and I'd wager they aren't in the frats.

I saw a post today… “Raise your sons to be the reason someone else’s daughter gets home safe. Teach them that when their friend crosses the line, silence is not an option! Speak up. Get help. Lose the friend. Because sometimes, “I didn’t do anything” is exactly what you did wrong “ Applies to daughters/ women as well!

But frat boys almost always appear to be clean-cut young men, bound to be outstanding citizens and leaders in the future. They also seem to have an affinity for shorts and pastel colours. I never met a woman who liked these douchebags either but they always seem to find victims.

Problem is, a good guy wouldnt be friends with people like this to call them out anyways.
Following this has made me sick to my stomach. Looking into it further: Cornell University's Title IX office received more than 1,200 reports of sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking between 2018 and 2024. Disciplinary Actions and Charges - - Total Reports: Over 1,200 incidents were documented. - Disciplinary Charges Filed: Cornell filed formal disciplinary charges against an accused student or employee in 162 cases. - Found Responsible: The university found at least one individual at fault in 51 cases. - Sanctions & Outcomes: - 7 cases resulted in expulsion or dismissal. - 14 cases resulted in suspensions. - The remaining responsible individuals received minor sanctions such as probation or training that allowed them to stay on campus

Out of 1200 reports you only get 7 expulsions. The rich like to protect the rich either in pedophilia or assault or any other walks of life. Time to get rid of frats. Another young man died due to Alcohol poisoning from a hazing in a an Arizona university too, that it’s also making headlines.
Fraternities and the entire greek system are about perpetuating the elites and excluding everyone else. They breed contempt, elitism, racism and other ugly stuff, including sexual assault and worse. Many campuses in Canada have banned them for years, but some still allow them to function. That needs to change.
This is what rape victims are up against, an entrenched system that hates them and wants to punish them for not being submissive. [jane doe fukr nGW2g01.jpeg]
This is where I take my leave, before I actually get emotional. Anyone with the same thinking as @puppy & @Rollingstar … Don’t visit me. I don’t want the money. 🤷♀️ 👋
Anyone else posting victim blaming or male centric conspiracy bullshit about how hard done by these rapists are is going away from the board for at least a week or longer. You have got to be fucking kidding me. I had thought we were better than this, but apparently we have some neanderthal clowns around who are Tate brother kool aid drinkers or something.
Thank you mod!

Read in the news that one of the perpetrators has made good his escape to Dubai.

Matthew Ingalls, named in the civil lawsuit is reportedly in Dubai, where he previously lived and went to school. That claim rests mainly on a Daily Mail story citing an anonymous neighbor. No official confirmation of his current location exists, and fact-checkers note it’s still unverified. Even if he is there: the U.S. and UAE have no bilateral extradition treaty. Any future criminal request would be handled case-by-case under UAE law (reciprocity + diplomatic channels). It’s not automatic, but the two countries have cooperated before — including high-profile returns such as the 2025 extradition of Antonio Brown from Dubai and earlier cases handled via deportation or mutual assistance. Right now this remains a civil lawsuit + a newly reopened criminal investigation. No charges have been filed.
