Just a thought Via ? He may have Locked himself out of his Phone, somehow ? It happens... ? Also, I had my Work Phone very recently , an Apple have an "Apple ID" Issue when I turned it back on after the Weekend . A big, pain in the Ass ! And to add Insult, to Injury, I could receive incoming Calls . But, couldn't call-out of the Phone . That's another reason, I'm an Android Guy ! So much easier ! There's another reason, why Email contact, is a good Option ? It gives both Parties, another way, to get a hold of each other in a pinch ? But, No Text, No E-Mail ? Now, You've got yourself, a real live Asshole ! LOL And Nobody, deserves that, especially You ! Getting Stood-Up, Sucks, and definitely not the good Type !
