Yes they sometimes did. And sometimes a pitcher didn't throw as far outside as he wanted. And sometimes a pitcher lost a grip. And sometimes a catcher flubbed a catch. The point is - Unexpected things happen when players have to throw the ball.

He was challenging/daring the pitcher to throw normally. That is the Only time I read about Any batter swinging at a pitch that was part of an intentional walk. You say Rose and others did so.Without documentation I don't believe it.

Eleven times in MLB history (1900 or later) has a batter swung at a pitch intended for an intentional walk, put the ball in play, and reached first base safely (9 times via a base bit, and twice, Pete Rose in 1972 and Andres Galarraga in 1996, on an error); the batting team won the game every time.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxUCKM1vFNIhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxUCKM1vFNIhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6YzVvtxoaY

I'll be damned!Learn something new every day! I follow baseball but was totally unaware of Cabrera's actions. 11 times it's been done successfully, I wonder how many times it didn't work? Thx for the information.

I think game 5 is a LA win. Simply too many stars to lose 2 in a row. I got this ending in 6 games.I really want to be wrong.

I'd say the majority of people and experts saw them losing game 4, myself included. Then they turn around and kicked ass last night. If Springer is in tonight, anything can happen. The question is: how will Yesavage pitch?

avatar apple9927 2025-10-30 01:45

Trey is dealing tonight, Can the Jays give the young man some more runs Please!!

Another gem of a game from the Jays. One more and the Dodgers are done. And they looked very human tonight.

I only know one thing, there will be no taking out the Jay's muscle for pinch runners in game 6 or 7. 1000 percent fact

My life's experience says that if some thing is possible no matter how remote, you should never discount that possibility. Let's wait and see.

dare to dream,Arnold, dare to dream. do you remember that Kokanee ad? Can they solve Yamamoto like they had a breakthrough against Ohtani? if not, they have the luxury of a Game 7 to try again. I'd have to check but I think the Jays were a bit below .500 as late as late May?They turned things around, helped by guys who are not exactly household names, and guys that weren't here a year ago. go Jays!

Jays now -240 to -250 favourites to win the pennant. I had just settled into my chair when the first HR went down then was in disbelief when the 2nd one happened. Hadn't even had time to crack a beer! That was a WS record. Then Yesavage pitches a rookie record game. Love how he turns and walks off the mound after an out. That guy has gusto, if he keeps this up, destined for greatness. Keep rockin Jays, fun watching these games.

I'm rdg some posts on social media that make me wonder....on facebook theres a thread asking who s/b the MVP for the Jays for the World Series. I'm thinking,..WIN the f.....g thing 1st, Then worry about MVP Jays in 7 if I had to bet...they have momentum but I expect Yamamoto to keep it alive for LA. If the teams follow their starting pitcher rotation it'd be Sherzer vs Glasnow and I think that gives the Jays a real shot. I wouldn't be surprised if Roberts starts Ohtani on short rest, with the hope of 3 or 4 good innings, then turn to Glasnow. Bullpens full for a Game 7. of course, the Jays are capable of getting past Yamamoto but I wouldn't want to bet on it. It's been a damn good series!

Two complete games back to back is crazy good. Three is unlikely. The Jays have seen him once now so hopefully they grind him into higher pitch counts as a result. Don't forget that Gausman is also a helluva pitcher, too, and one run could win this game either way.

I can't believe that, another Joe Carter moment was possible with Springer Up and it ends in a double play.

avatar apple9927 2025-11-01 03:16

Superman gets another chance tomorrow to win it for LA, I can't handle anymore.

Any bar or place in Vancouver for watch party?

That was such a bone-headed mistake by Barger I was surprised he wasn't wearing a Yankees uniform.
