Has AI affected your work?
Has AI made any significant changes to your work life like work load decreasing, hours decreasing, elimination of positions, or the realization, your position may not be there in 1 to 5 years?
It has made me lazier at work for sure, outsourcing all my data entry and write-ups.
Well considering I teach people how to utilize and implement AI , my job only gets easier
No change in my work. I only use power tools normally, so AI is not a factor.
AI can only follow algorithms, right now are not capable of thoughts or inspiration, but are incredibly quick and can process mass data. People can think outside the box, but are limited by the knowledge they possess and the data they can process. AI is a tool for now. Here is the thing to think about: 1. Roman Empire the slaves ran the economy and did all the work... mechanical contraptions like a water wheel (for milling flour), were discouraged, as to give the slave something to do. If a slave could do the work, you did not find other things to do the work for the slave. 2. The industrial Revolution in England created jobs in the cities and freed up mass labour for other industrial purposes. Mechanical looms produce cloth (textile factory) at a far greater rate than humans could. People flocked from the rural areas to the bigger cities. 3 Humans are going to be replaced by robots (good at repetitive work, unlike humans) on factory/assembly lines. You will still need people to reprogram machines and trouble-shoot problems on assembly lines. You still need people to design assembly lines. One thing about 3D manufacturing is you need people to set up the 3d printer, and add more filament if the machine runs out. 4. With todays technology, people are more inclined to go back to the rural area and live off grid. Build their own house, power it with solar, heat house by wood/solar. But the biggest thing is that these people are growing their own food. whatever work they are doing is done on computer. Today there are other income sources from Utube, online stock market, online marketing etc. You can't keep kids off computers from playing games these day, so weapons of war are similar to what these kids are used to (xbox controllers for drones and submarines etc). The simple idea of plug and play and let the computer handle the download and make the program work. Some people blog...etc. 5 While big companies are downsizing people for the bottom line of making mass profit. Those people need to do something, otherwise they will become a problem for society and not in a good way, same as the Roman slaves. 6 It takes great inertia to change a production line or the way certain companies want their business to be run. There fore new ideas are not welcomed, as it crashed the status-quo... People of intellect and drive and creativity will leave stagnate jobs to do other things.
I’ve used it for a couple things , cut my time down at work by 30% when I did use it . Just a quick check to make sure everything was correct but still easier and faster than doing it yourself from scratch . No complaints.
Fortunately, my life as an exclusive gigolo is difficult to replicate with 1’s and 0’s. I don’t want an AI wank job, and I find horny women crave non-linear mystery over classical intelligence aggregation, which is not convincingly elucidated by Chad Gupta or his brethren. Stay human my friends.
Blue collar since '86. Good luck AI-ing that.

Click to expand... I manage websites, and I often use AI to help write blog posts. But this post was 100% written by me. LOL

AI can't cook my food or vacuum my house (without me buying some robot). The simple act of slowing down and doing things for you and your family are what makes us human. Trying to circumvent that is just foolish, and very detrimental to humanity's future. In marvel, is Tony Stark the genius or did he use AI to become the genius with his inventions? All hypothetical of course....

I use it reduce character limits for certain work applications. Otherwise, so far, not really.

Cant wait for AI to become more advanced... Our marketing team used AI to boost our online presence significantly and we use AI to monitor all calls, voicemails, texts, etc., so it's much easier for a small team to deal with dozens of customers at once.
Till they start printing steak or ground beef im pretty safe
It is just a knowledgeable and honest consultant. My colleague used it as a bot to handle all customer outreach and answer their questions.
In terms of work (I work in tech), I use AI on daily basis tbh I don’t know how I would do without it. Also helps that I administer the use of AI for the company, but not as openly as most people in the industry. Use it as a tool to help with efficiency but do not rely on it as much (especially with the agentic AI noise going around). Also had a meeting with a high level expert in AI and security, dude is very wary of it and with the quick advancement of AI development (as well as its upcoming infrastructures being built) we agreed that our job have 2-3 years left till it pretty much can takeover and automate. The guys lucky though, he said he’ll take his early retirement and have fun adapting to it lmao. Addition: I think you’re really screwed if you don’t familiarize yourself with it. Unless you work in a labour intensive field, once AI reaches it’s potential (or if there even is) you won’t catch up at all.

Are you saying that some people will be unable to use it at all? If so, how so?
The problem with AI is that you have to very its information as true or false... as it information it gets it from, could be a red herring.... Some where on the internet there is an article on the WWW or darknet, that says "You need to do evil, to do good things; kinda like killing women and children in GAZA"..... The Bible and Koran have example of good things to do... it also has bad examples and ideas where god chooses to do evil things to other human beings through the interaction of angels or men... that just are not morally right.... If I am not allowed to question god, then what kind of god is he/she? Right now in the world AI is being mixed with self directing drones ( to make the drone still hit the target even if jammed or fibre optic cable is cut) for drone to blow up targets). All to make the drones more effective against the enemy. Hal 2000, Skynet, Alexa, Siri, and that US navel refueling drone xp-47 are all AI. Scary when humans think about it.
